Public Participation

The Spreckels Union School District Board of Trustees welcomes and encourages public participation at Board meetings.

Individuals wishing to address the Board are asked to complete a speaker request card and indicate whether they wish to comment on a specific agenda item or provide general public comment on a matter within the Board's subject matter jurisdiction.

Comments on both agenda and non-agenda items are heard during the portion of the meeting designated for "Individuals Desiring to Address the Board." General public comments are typically heard first, followed by comments related to specific agenda items.

The Board President may limit presentations to three (3) minutes per speaker, per subject, and may limit the total time devoted to a particular subject matter in order to facilitate the orderly conduct of the meeting.

In accordance with the California Brown Act, no action may be taken by the Board on matters not appearing on the posted agenda unless permitted under Government Code Section 54954.2.

Individuals requiring special accommodations, including but not limited to American Sign Language interpretation, accessible seating, or documents in accessible formats, should contact the Superintendent's Office at least two (2) business days prior to the meeting.
