Board of Trustees Home

The Spreckels Union School District Board of Trustees is composed of five community members elected by the voters of the District to serve four-year terms. Elections are held in even-numbered years, with trustee terms staggered so that two or three seats are up for election at a time.

The Board of Trustees is responsible for setting the vision and direction of the District and providing oversight of its educational and financial operations. The Board establishes goals and policies, approves curriculum, adopts the District budget, confirms personnel appointments, approves major purchases and contracts, and oversees facilities and construction projects.

To manage the day-to-day operations of the District, the Board of Trustees appoints the Superintendent, who serves as the District's chief executive officer and is responsible for implementing Board policies and carrying out District operations.
