Making Our Schools Safer
Information About Measure O

Dear Spreckels USD Community:

To ensure all students can learn in safe and clean classrooms, the Board of Education unanimously placed Measure O – the Spreckels Union School District Classroom Repair, Upgrade, Safety Measure – on the November 5th ballot.

If enacted, Measure O addresses necessary health and safety repairs in our aging local elementary and middle schools, including:

  • Repairing leaky roofs
  • Continuing to provide safe school drinking water
  • Upgrading smoke and fire alarm systems
  • Removing asbestos, lead paint and mold
  • Replacing deteriorating portables with permanent classrooms

Measure O will also address priorities identified by our community earlier this year, such as attracting and retaining quality teachers and providing a well-rounded education.

Please make an informed decision before you vote on Measure O and visit the links below for more information.

Sincerely,
Eric Tarallo
Superintendent
